Melanie Denise French
(11/04/1955 – 01/09/2025)
Melanie was a fighter whose unwavering faith and devotion to God will be remembered by all who knew her. Passionate about studying God’s word, she devoted much of her time to learning and sharing his teachings. Hergenerosity, both in time and resources, touched many lives. She actively spread the gospel through outreach efforts, always eager to share the truth and blessings of Jesus Christ with those seeking hope.
Melanie loved playing board games, going to movies, and taking walks to appreciate the beauty of nature. She also loved to travel and cherished her time teaching English in China for a year.
Survived by her mother, Mary Floyd Hutchie French, her brothers James Michael Victor French, James Robert Morgan French, her sister Heidi Lynne Thomas, and her nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her many brothers and sisters in Christ at Mountain Island Church of Christ.
A Memorial “Celebration of Life” Service will be held Saturday, February 1st at 1pm at the Mountain Island Church of Christ, 4205 Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road, Charlotte, North Carolina 28216. The Visitation will be from 12pm – 1pm before the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mountain Island Church of Christ, Charlotte, North Carolina.

Melanie was truly a God sent. The last thing she said to me was. “This cancer journey was a blessing in disguise because, when visitors came to see her she was able to share God’s work with them” she will truly be missed!
